I had completely forgotten about this recipe until about a year ago. I was taking a ski lesson from a woman I worked with years ago at a local culinary school who now teaches at one of our local ski resorts. We were catching up while taking the chair lift up the mountain, and she mentioned she still makes “Tanya’s Wings.” I could not remember the last time I made them, let alone even thought about them. My husband looked a little sad when I told him this story and said he did not know I had a wing recipe and how much he would like to try it.

So, Super Bowl 2019, I made the wings, and he happily gobbled most of them up himself. Thankfully, I am not a big lover of wings, so I did not have to fight for my share.

Yield 4 servings

15 chicken wings, or a combination of wings and drumettes
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup soy sauce
⅓  cup Worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 350℉

Place the wings in a large bowl. Mix all the remaining ingredients together in a small bowl. Pour the mixture over the wings and stir to thoroughly coat all the pieces. Put the wings and all the sauce in a large baking dish with sides. Making sure they are in a single layer.

Bake for 1½ hours. Halfway through the baking time, turn the wings over.

Let cool and serve with lots of napkins.

Just Salt It, and enjoy!
