This burger is going to blow your mind! It is not your usual dry and bland turkey burger. We add a few special ingredients to make it a juicy, flavorful burger feast. It is our new favorite burger that can’t be beaten.

Yield 4 burgers

4 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup minced celery
¼ cup minced onion
1 tsp fresh minced sage
1 tsp fresh minced thyme
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb. ground turkey
⅓ lb. ground breakfast pork sausage
⅓ cup apple butter
¼ tsp salt
⅛ tsp pepper
12 sliced of brie cheese
4 buns toasted, gluten-free or gluten-full
Avocado mayonnaise
1 pear cored and sliced thin
Cranberry sauce with whole berries

In a non-stick or cast-iron skillet, heat 2 Tbsp olive oil to medium heat. Next, add the celery, onion, sage, thyme, and garlic until softened. Remove the mixture from the heat and set it aside.

Add the turkey, pork, apple butter, salt, pepper, and celery mixture to a bowl. Using your hands, gently fold the ingredients together. Once combined, shape into 4 patties. They are a bit wet, which is fine.

Use the same skillet as above to heat up the remaining 2 Tbsp olive oil on medium-high heat. Place the patties in the pan and cover with a lid or aluminum foil. Cook the burgers for approximately 8 - 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through and turning the heat down to medium. Once the burgers are cooked, add 3 pieces of Brie to each patty and cover until the Brie begins to melt. Remove the burgers from the pan.

Slice the buns in half and spread with avocado mayonnaise. With the same pan on medium heat, place the buns cut side down and cook until nicely toasted.

To make each burger place a patty with cheese on one side of the toasted bun and top with pear slices, 3 Tbsp cranberry sauce, and the top bun. Serve immediately with lots of napkins. They are messy but so worth it!

Just Salt It, and enjoy!
