This is the absolute best summertime treat. Not only will it cool you down in the middle of the summer heat, but it also tastes amazing. I got the recipe from Whispering Vine in Reno, NV a few years back. They made Rosé popsicles for their Annual Rosé Party. I prefer to make them into crushed ice that I can put in a little bowl and eat with a spoon rather than on a stick. You can make them either way. The recipe works for both.
1 Bottle Rosé wine
½ cup Gifford French Pineapple Liqueur
½ cup grapefruit juice
Zest of 1 grapefruit
Zest of 1 lemon
4 Tbsp sugar
¼ cup water
Mix all the ingredients into a large pitcher. Pour the mixture into ice trays and freeze. Once the Rosé cubes are frozen, put them in a bowl or food storage container, and crush the cubes with a potato masher. After the cubes are mashed up, cover the bowl or container, and store it in the freezer.
I often double the recipe. It will last a couple of weeks in the freezer. It is so good that ours is lucky if it makes it a week!
Just Salt It, and enjoy!
